Dear Neighbors:

There is a case pending in the courts where the plaintiffs are pressuring the police department to cease enforcing certain quality-of-life offenses.

We know this directly contradicts what our members are requesting from the police department.

That said, the Law Department is requesting that we reach out to our members and ask that you submit affidavits to the Law Department stating that you oppose such actions. These affidavits will be submitted to the judge handling this case.

Without community support on this issue, there may be an order from the judge requiring the police to cease enforcing certain quality of life offenses such as public drunkenness, urination, panhandling and sleeping on the streets.

We apologize for the short turn-around time, but these affidavits are needed as soon as possible and no later than Monday, April 19th. So, please fill out and forward the attached affidavit directly to the Law Department, to the attention of:

The affidavit is below. You may need to download a copy, fill it out and then send it back as an attachment to email.

Sincerely,

Maggie Mund,
President
