Vision Zero

At Thursday night's PSA 1 meeting, there was a presentation on the city's Vision Zero initiative. This program is working toward zero traffic deaths. Visit their web site and take their survey here.

Annual Meeting Hosts Great Discussion & Elects Officers
 
David Thornburg and Chris Satullo, both of the Committee of Seventy, riveted the audience with a terrific conversation on gerrymandering, partisan primaries and voter disengagement in Philly and PA.  The food from Di Bruno's was delicious.  New Officers and Directors were elected for terms starting on July 1, 2017.  Congrats to incoming president Wade Albert and the new officers, directors.  Read bios here
Closure
Office Closure

In observance of the Memorial Day Holiday, the CCRA office is closed on Friday, 5/26, and will reopen on Wednesday, 5/31.
Trash
Trash Collection

In observance of the Memorial Day Holiday, no trash will be collected on Monday, 5/29.  Trash collection will resume on Tuesday, 5/30.
Rocky
Yo! Adrian! Let's Ride!  Rocky Ride, June 3, 10 AM at 21st & Shunk
 
A fun ride to support CCRA and the Bicycle Coalition, following 15 miles of Rocky's training run. Register Here for $35.

CCRA Member Jacoba Zaring is looking for participants 60 to 75 years old. The purpose of the study is to investigate speech understanding in adults.  For more information, click here.

CCRA Donates Ticket Revenue and Decorations From "School House Rock" Celebration Event to Greenfield School


As those of you in attendance can attest, CCRA had a terrific party on Monday night.  And aside from honoring Greenfield principal Dan Lazar with the Association's community service award, CCRA is donating 15% of the ticket revenue ($1,560.75) as well as all of the decorations (30 composition books; 288 pencils; 200 multi-colored pieces of pastel sidewalk chalk; 30 glue sticks; 12 multi-colored plastic sand buckets; and 12 multi-colored wooden rulers) to the school.

Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival, Sat, 5/20, 12-5pm

The annual Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival will be held Saturday, May 20th, from 12 noon to 5:00 p.m., rain or shine. Streets will be blocked off so you can enjoy food, live music, arts, and fashion, free from traffic. Walnut Street between Broad and 19th Streets and 17th and 18th from Sansom to Locust Streets. www.rittenhouserow.org.
Society Hill 39th Annual Open House & Garden Tour, Sun, 5/21, 1-5pm
 
Walk the same streets as Benjamin Franklin and George Washington.  All the houses' architectural and interior styles range from 18th and 19th century to most contemporary.  Get decorating ideas for your home!
