Volunteers Opportunities at The Bethesda Project
The Bethesda Project is looking for volunteers to help with the deep clean at Trinity Church on Wednesday, July 31, 1pm. This is a chance to be a good partner with one of their winter church shelters, and also a chance to work closely with shelter guests and get a special "inside" look! Let me know if available.

They are looking for a few more volunteers to serve as a Computer Lab Attendant at Our Brothers' Place. This involves opening up the computer lab so guests can access housing resources, apply for jobs, etc. It is pretty laid-back, occasionally assisting guests but no upper-level technology experience needed. The schedule can be flexible, but we are ideally looking for individuals that can commit to a couple hours on a weekday morning.
Looking for small groups to cook and serve meals at our Safe Haven and Permanent Supportive Housing! This would involve bringing food, cooking, and interacting with our residents in a communal meal.
In addition to t-shirts, shorts, and belts, they also have a high need right now for wallets and new women's undergarments. Drop off at Our Brothers' Place (907 Hamilton Street) at any time!

City to Address Congestion on Chestnut Street through engineering and enforcement

"You can't get there from here!" I used to say that when trying to describe how to get to Glenside or some other suburban community without easy car access (forget mass transit!). But now you can pretty accurately say that when trying to get across town. The City has a plan to address some of the most egregious congestion, on Chestnut Street, through better curbside management and bus operations, and in August will work with SEPTA and DVRPC on the Chestnut Street Loading Pilot Project .   On July 11, CCRA executive committee members voted to support this  Pilot Project.  Attached is a flyer concerning the pilot and the letter of support sent to Chris Puchalsky, PhD, Director of Policy and Strategic Studies, oTIS.  CCRA looks forward to continuing cooperation with oTIS as the Chestnut Street Congestion is addressed.
Office Closure

CCRA is closed from Monday July 21, and will reopen on Monday, July 29.  All emails and phone messages will be answered when the office reopens.
Convergence
By Rebecca Rutstein

This summer, a new Mural Arts Philadelphia mural meditation on the Schuylkill River is soaring above the popular Schuylkill Banks multi-use trail. Painted directly on the facade of a building belonging to technology and entertainment company AT&T, the vibrant geometric design is the first mural by noted Philadelphia artist Rebecca Rutstein. It is the first mural from an artist known for her work at the intersection of art, science, and technology. For more information, click or tap here.
