Zoning Committee Changes - Correction

Yesterday's enewsletter inadvertently did not mention  Doug Mellor as an incoming member of the zoning committee.  I apologize for the error and welcome Doug to the committee!

There will be no enewsletter next week due to the holiday and office closure.  Have a safe and happy 4th! - Maggie Mund, President

Zoning Committee Changes

Like the Board of Directors, CCRA's zoning committee also renews itself in July.  I would like to recognize four members who are rotating off the zoning committee at this time:  Guy Aiman, Fran Levi, Charles Loomis (co-chair)  and David Gerson.  We thank them all for their service on the zoning committee, with special recognition going to Charles Loomis, who has co-chaired the zoning committee for longer than anyone can remember and Fran Levi, who has served on many CCRA committees over the years, including zoning, newsletter, and executive committee.  We don't know what they will do with all their newfound free time, but are sure it will be something great.

And we welcome the  following individuals who will be joining the zoning committee on July 1, 2019 as the new class of FY 2020-2023:  Michelle Sahl and Jacob Cooper.

Finally, zoning committee co-chairs serve the same term as the President, in this case FY 2020-2022.  I am thrilled to announce that Sam Gordon will continue as zoning committee co-chair, and he will be joined by CCRA past president Wade Albert as his co-chair.  I am sure they will do a great job managing the zoning committee. -  Maggie Mund, President
Membership Changes

During the summer, CCRA will be making a couple of changes to make joining and/or renewing your membership, donating, and registering for events easier.

New Payment System

CCRA will no longer use PayPal as our credit card processor for joining, renewing, donating, and registering for events online. Credit card processing will be handled directly through our website.

CCRA now offers recurring charges

Beginning July 1, CCRA will offer annual recurring charges to your membership for credit card users. If you do not wish to have this feature, you will have to change the setting to opt out when your membership is due for renewal. If you are having trouble, please contact our Operations Manager, Travis Oliver via email. If you choose not to pay by credit card, we will continue to accept checks.
CCQ Opportunities
Restaurant Reviewers Wanted

Are you excited about all the new restaurants opening in our CCRA neighborhood and environs? Would you like to know more about them? Do you have a spirit of adventure? Do you share a bond of mutual trust with your friends and neighbors? Want to provide a public service, while having a great time in the bargain? DO YOU LOVE TO EAT?

Then we have the perfect "job" for you? The Center City Quarterly is looking for one or more intrepid gastronomes to explore the restaurant scene in Center City and write reviews for our readers. You can pick the places-new or old, plain or fancy, exotic or homespun-and report on your findings. Please contact Travis for more information, or to submit reviews.
"Shop Talk" Writers Wanted

The "Shop Talk" feature of The Center City Quarterly is looking to recruit neighborhood shopaholics to write up the local merchants-new and old-that liven up the unique retail scene of Center City. Do love to shop? Do you know of that special merchant, retailer, boutique or small business that you love and want to thrive? Give them a boost by reaching a wider, classier clientele via your favorite neighborhood publication. Please contact [??] for more information, or to submit articles.
Office Closure

In observance of Independence Day, CCRA is closed on Thursday, July 4, and Friday July 5. The office will reopen on Monday, July 8. We wish you a happy and safe holiday.
Trash Collection

In observance of Independence Day, garbage collection is suspended on Thursday, July 4.  Collection will resume on Friday, July 5.
Affordable Lodging for Out-Of-Town Patients-Families

As a caring response to the lodging needs of patients and their loved ones coming to Greater Philadelphia for medical care Patient-families need Host-homes near Center City and greater Philadelphia. The homes can range from ranch or multilevel, to condos or apartments in elevator-equipped buildings. Hosts are not responsible for meals or transportation - only a clean and comfortable place to sleep.

For more information about becoming a host or helping to spread word of the patient-family lodging need, please contact HFH at 424-380-2999 or visit their website.
Help Keep Our Neighborhood Beautiful This Summer

As we enter the summer months, please note that the street cleaning doesn't stop and we hope that your contributions don't either. Your responses so far have been wonderful.  If you have donated, thank you!  If you haven't, please remember the campaign supports many initiatives - tree planting, historic preservation, the Schuylkill River Park Community Garden, oversight of neighborhood development and - last but not least - sidewalk cleaning.

Please consider donating to help keep our Neighborhood clean.  To donate right now, visit our website, www.phillyccra.org
