New Year, New Attitude
CCRA's
Board of Directors kicked off the new year with a priority setting
session at their meeting on Tuesday, January 8, 2019. Working from a
long list of 12 issues of neighborhood concern, we identified the
following as priorities for 2019. (These are in alphabetical order.)
As
we move into 2019, we plan to focus on these concerns via our
interactions with the City's Streets, Planning, Property Assessment and
Historic Preservation departments as well as our City Council
representatives. We will also have public forums on issues of community
interest.
In
other business Tuesday night, CCRA board voted to support the permanent
installation of the bike lanes on Market/JFK between 15 and 20th
Streets. This followed a presentation by the Office of Transportation
and Infrastructure Systems and Streets Department. Support is
contingent upon continuing coordination with the relevant city staff on
issues such as snow removal, signage, signal timing, pedestrian
facilities, bus service and parking.

Help Keep Our Sidewalks Clean
Each year CCRA uses Neighborhood Beautification contributions to
fund a $29,000 contract with the Center City District for sidewalk
cleaning after each weekly trash collection and further to finance our
other aesthetic initiatives - tree planting, historic preservation, the
Schuylkill River Park Community Garden. We would be grateful if you
could contribute a charitable donation to help cover the costs. Click or tap here to donate. If you have already contributed, thank you very much for your generous support.
