BalletX Spring Series 2019
The Wilma Theater | March 6-17
BalletX, Philadelphia’s premier
contemporary ballet, whose dancers have been named “among America’s
best” by The New York Times, is one of SOSNA’S newest neighbors with the
company’s 5,000 square foot dance studio and headquarters now located
at 1923 Washington Avenue!
The company, led by Artistic & Executive Director Christine Cox,
commissions choreographers from around the world to create dance that is
“fresh, inclusive, and connects to what people want” (Philadelphia
Citizen) while “positioning Philadelphia on the cutting edge of
contemporary ballet” (The Dance Journal).
BalletX Spring Series 2019 at the Wilma features the East Coast Premiere
of ‘Express’ by Memphis jookin’ movement artist Lil Buck, and World
Premieres by critically-acclaimed choreographer Nicolo Fonte, and 2019
Choreographic Fellow, Katarzyna Skarpetowska.
