Message from the President

Good evening!

I am writing to tell you about some changes in CCRA leadership since the 2017 annual meeting at which Wade Albert and Matt Fontana were elected President and Executive Vice President respectively.  In late Fall 2018, both Wade and Matt resigned, and in December the Board voted that I assume the remainder of Wade's Presidential term (July 2019).   Having been a  CCRA board member for many years, I am excited by the opportunity to lead CCRA and thank you for your support.  I believe strongly in advancing our mission to "preserve, enhance, and celebrate urban living" in the community of Center City West.
Not long ago, CCRA hosted many community events of civic interest, and I would like to return to that level of engagement.  It will not happen overnight, and it cannot happen without your help. You do not have to be a CCRA board member to volunteer for the organization.  We live in a very dynamic neighborhood, and staying on top of the issues is challenging.  We especially need help in the area of communications and event management.  I am also looking for an engineer or planner to help with Streets department coordination.  Please contact the office if you are interested in helping in these capacities.

Thank you,

Maggie Mund,
President

Xmas Tree Recycling Is Back!

Happy holidays, neighbors! I'm pleased to announce, after a successful pumpkin rescue, Circle Compost's Christmas tree recycling program. Sign up to have your tree composted and we will pick them up on January 5th and 12th. They've given joy and warmth to your home this winter. Now let them create new life to feed our local soils at our nonprofit urban farm and garden partners. Don't let the city send them to the landfill with your regular trash. We will also take your live wreaths. Sign up here.
Help Keep Our Sidewalks Clean

Each year CCRA uses Neighborhood Beautification contributions to fund a $29,000 contract with the  Center City District for sidewalk cleaning after each weekly trash collection and further to finance our other aesthetic initiatives - tree planting, historic preservation, the Schuylkill River Park Community Garden.  We would be grateful if you could contribute a charitable donation to help cover the costs. Click or tap here  to donate.  If you have already contributed, thank you very much for your generous support.
Zoning Meeting Updates

The committee will meet on Tuesday, 1/22/19, 7pm, at Brandywine BEX, 2 Commerce Sq, (2005 Market St).
