Survey: Electric Vehicle Parking

Current City law allows owners of electric vehicles (EVs) to obtain dedicated parking in front of their homes, so they can charge their EVs.  Any EV may park there but the owner controls who may charge.  A bill in City Council would freeze this program.  Supporters of the dedicated EV parking urge that EVs should be encouraged to reduce local pollution and encourage innovation.  Opponents object that it is a $3,000 (or so) gift to EV owners who would otherwise have to pay for garage parking.  Last June, CCRA's Board opposed dedicated spots but reserved judgment if charging was available to the public (commercially or otherwise).

CUBA's Malpaso Dance Company makes its Philadelphia Debut February 15-19 NextMove Dance, Prince Theater, 1412 Chestnut

Malpaso Dance Company, one of Cuba's hottest and newest multi-cultural contemporary dance troupes, performs two full-company works showcasing the company's Cuban roots, virtuoso technique and artistry.  24 Hours and a Dog is a 40-minute work choreographed by Osnel Delgado (Artistic Director Co-Founder/Malpaso). Set to the theatrical and evocative music by Grammy Award-winning jazz composer Arturo O'Farrill, 24 Hours is inspired by the daily life of a dancer in Havana -- the rhythms of everyday life and a mysterious invisible character of a dog.

Performances take place Wednesday, February 15 at 7:30pm; Thursday, February 16 at 7:30pm; Friday, Friday February 17 at 8pm; Saturday, February 18 at 2pm and 8pm; and Sunday, February 19  at 3pm.  CCRA members can receive $10 off single tickets by using the code SAVE10.
