Triangles Winter Solstice Celebration and Treecycling at Carpenter Green

Friends & Neighbors,
The holidays are upon us, so mark your calendars for the second annual Treecycling at Carpenter Green! On January 2nd and 9th SOSNA will be collecting and recycling Christmas trees at Carpenter Green, our newest community park. Trees will be chipped with the help of Bartlett Tree Experts, and the mulch will be used right here in our neighborhood during our spring street-tree planting. This year, you can sign up in advance and have your tree picked up curbside on January 9th by a SOSNA volunteer, no muss no fuss! You can drop off your tree on either Saturday between 9am and 12:30pm (pick ups only on the 9th), and all donations support creating Carpenter Green. Share this event with friends and neighbors so we can keep all of our neighborhood's trees out of the landfill!

Join us on Tuesday, December 22nd for the SOSNA Winter Solstice Celebration at the Triangles Plaza! We'll celebrate winter with hot buttered rum specials at Grace Tavern, half off hot cocoa at the Igloo and s'mores! Stop by between 5-8pm!

Start off 2015 sustainably! Don't throw your tree out with the trash, RECYCLE IT!
The Carpenter Green and Clean & Green Committees will be collecting and recycling Christmas trees on the first two Saturdays in January. Trees collected will be chipped and stored at 17th and Carpenter -the future site of Carpenter Green Park! Wood chips will be available for neighbors and used during the neighborhood tree planting in spring 2016. Drop off your tree on January 2nd or 9th, for a suggested donation of $5. If you don't want to put the tree in the car or drag it down the street, you can sign up to have your tree picked up on January 9th for a $20 donation! For more information and to sign up for tree pick up, go to http://southofsouth.org/treecycle.
