Call for SOSNA Board Nominations!

Friends & Neighbors, 
Join us for our September General Membership meeting on Wednesday, September 9th as we officially accept nominations for the SOSNA Board of Directors (elections take place Oct 14th, register to vote here). For more facts about SOSNA's board, nominations, and voting,  click here. We'll also have an update on creating Carpenter Green during our September meeting! Don't miss it, the meeting will be held at SOSNA (1901 Christian) and start at 7pm. 
We're collecting school supplies, specifically copy paper and pencils, for our neighborhood schools! We're challenging the neighborhood to help us collect 20,000 pencils and 2,000 reams! We're accepting donations at the SOSNA office until the end of September, but if you can't get to the office you can always order through the schools amazon wish lists or online and ship to the SOSNA office. The summer is coming to a close, that means it's time for back to school! Help us collect the items our schools really need this year- pencils and paper! We're challenging the neighborhood to help us collect 20,000 pencils and 2,000 reams of paper for Stanton and Chester Arthur Elementary Schools!
Attention SOSNA members! Come out and vote to elect up to 5 new members of the SOSNA Board of Directors! Nominations were accepted at the September 9, 2015 General Membership Meeting. Details about the elections procedure and serving on the Board are below. The Elections will take place Wednesday October 14th at Shiloh Baptist Church (2040 Christian St)! Polls will be open from 6:30pm-8:30PM, and the candidates will give their brief speeches at 7:30PM.
Every Thursday night this summer come and enjoy live music, good food and meet your fellow neighbors at the Triangles Summer Music Series! Meet us at the Triangles Plaza (23rd and Grays Ferry Ave/South Street) starting at 6pm. Thursday, September 3rd, we'll have music by Tropical Disease and food from the Flying Deutschman food truck!
The following parking lane closures will be taking place over the next 1-2 weeks in relation to CHOP construction. Closing the parking lanes will be necessary to allow large vehicle deliveries to take place without endangering cars and property of near neighbors. The affected intersections are:
-       Schuylkill Ave. / Christian St.
-       Grays Ferry Ave. / 25th St. / Christian St.
-       24th St. / Christian St.
-       24th St. / Grays Ferry Ave.

What better way to farewell to the fading days of summer than a Sunday morning walk/run through a beautiful, part of our city?  Join Penn’s 5K for IOA and Memory Walk on Sunday, September 20th, at 8am at Shoemaker Green!
From our friends at Rita's South Street West... We will be doing a school supply fundraiser for all our local schools through the first week of school in September. Please come support the kids and your local school!
