Light Up the Night: National Night Out: August 4th Friends & Neighbors,  The SOSNA Safety Committee is thrilled to announce the fifth annual Light Up the Night event on Tuesday, August 4th. This year we are celebrating National Night Out at Julian Abele Park (22nd & Carpenter/Montrose) from 6:00-8:00pm on the 4th. This family-friendly, community event is being held to raise awareness about safety and crime prevention in the neighborhood, to get to know your neighbors, and to strengthen police-community partnerships. We'll have family-friendly activities, a neighbor meet and greet, and a food truck. Take this opportunity to meet the Captain and Officers of the 17th Police District and bring the kids to tour a fire truck!  Don't miss Philadelphia Dance Day, this Saturday July 25th from 9:00am-8:00pm throughout the City! All dance enthusiasts – regardless of experience or even coordination – are invited to take part in the fun. There will be something for everyone, from bellydance to tap to hip-hop for all ages. Participants will tour studios around the city to sample as many free workshops as they like during the day, then come together in the evening for the main event at the Ethical Society Building on Rittenhouse Square. For the full schedule, click here! Join us for two Triangles Summer Music Series concerts this week! Thursday night from 6-8pm we'll have food from the Local 215 food truck and music from Silent Shapes. Then, on Sunday we'll have kids' music from 5-7pm with the Lara and Joe Show and the Kami food truck!  Lastly, this Thursday, July 23rd, is the Police Community Meeting for PSA-1 (Police Service Area 1) at the SOSNA office at 6:30pm.  Please note: the July Meeting of SOSNA's Board of Directors has been canceled. The next Board meeting will be held on August 26th.  Events Triangles Summer Music Series Every Thursday night this summer come enjoy live music, good food and meet your fellow neighbors at the Triangles Summer Music Series! Meet us at the Triangles Plaza (23rd and Grays Ferry Ave/South Street) starting at 6pm. Thursday, July 23rd and we'll have music by Silent Shapes and food from the Local 215 food truck! Events Philadelphia Dance Day From the organizers of Philadelphia Dance Day: The sixth annual Philadelphia Dance Day is coming up on July 25 with more than 20 free workshops and a $5 evening party that includes more lessons, performances and open social dancing. We had more than 500 people dancing with us last year, and hope for even more this year! Volunteers from about a dozen local organizations are collaborating to make this event possible.  News Wild for Wellness at the YMCA This FREE program educates children ages 10-14 about making healthier eating habits and will take place at the Christian Street YMCA from Septmeber - November.
