COVID-19 has been a huge challenge for our city. We need every Philadelphian to count in the #2020Census so that Philly gets the resources and funding it needs to recover from the pandemic.

From our schools, to our healthcare system, to our essential businesses—the 2020 Census will impact it all for the next 10 years! Let's get back on track, click the link below or call 1-844-330-2020!

ADDITIONAL RENTAL ASSISTANCE UP TO $1,500

The City of Philadelphia has made a significant change to the amount of rental assistance funding that is available for Phase 2 of the COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program. Now, RENT CAN BE PAID UP TO $1500.00!

"Our goal throughout the pandemic has been – and continues to be – to keep people in their homes." said Mayor Jim Kenney. "Whether it’s through our rental assistance program, COVID emergency housing sites, or our eviction diversion program, maintaining housing for our most vulnerable residents is critical. This additional CARES Act funding for rental assistance allows us to serve landlords and families struggling to make ends meet. We encourage all eligible Philadelphians facing economic hardship during these challenging times to apply for rental assistance before the end of the month."

This increase will automatically apply to tenants that have already applied for Phase 2 funding, as well as all new applicants.

Please visit https://phlrentassist.org/ for more information.  They are taking applications until September 30, 2020.

 SOSNA BOARD ELECTIONS

The SOSNA Board of Directors is a working volunteer Board that establishes the policies and helps implement the programs and activities of the organization. The SOSNA board is an elected volunteer body, made up of 15 people from the neighborhood. Each board member serves a 3-year term and can only serve 2 consecutive terms, for a total of 6 years.

SOSNA’s Board of Directors strives to be representative of our population of neighbors. Our Board of Directors and volunteers shape our programs and initiatives as we work towards community safety that supports and heals, not disenfranchises and displaces. We continue to be committed to creating a diverse board that represents our neighborhood in terms of race/ethnic groups, professions, education levels, ages, abilities and genders. All nomination applications are very welcome.

SOSNA COMMUNITY SPACE - SURVEY

We're exploring turning our new SOSNA space into a cooperative workspace containing technology and resources to develop creative digital content. In doing so we hope to create a community hub for individuals to work remotely, facilitate learning pods, and share skills or solutions through developing creative digital content in order to develop rapport in person or virtually, share solutions through digital content, and ultimately establish a more cohesive community.

Learn more about the idea created by our Board Member, Brandon Washington here.

We need your input on this community space!
