If you’re not registered to vote in Pennsylvania, you can start the process online at register.votesPA.com Do you need to update your voter registration information because you’ve moved or changed your name? You can check your status at votesPA.com/Status If you have questions, please visit­­ PHILADELPHIAVOTES.COM or call the Philadelphia Board of Elections at 215-686-3469 or the Philadelphia Voter Registration Office at 215-686-1591. The deadline to register or to update your registration is Oct. 19. Taking care of it now should make it easier for you to vote safely from home by mail, if you choose to do so. DIY STREET CLEAN UP KITS SOSNA is now providing clean-up kits to those who wish to clean-up their block on a more regular basis.  Each kit will include a trash grabber, a bag holder, black contractor bags, and cloth gloves.  If you are interested in getting one of these kits, please email addiejohnston940(at)gmail(dot)com so we can keep track of where these kits are checked out.  Pick-ups for the kits are every Friday morning at our new office, 1901 Washington Ave, Unit B (access on 19th) from 8-9am.  If you can't make that time, we'll happily work with you to set up a time that accommodates your schedule. WHAT WE'RE READING Philly now has 100 people helping track the Coronavirus and here's what they've learned via NBC Philadelphia Schools going to 100% virtual in the Fall via Philadelphia Inquirer PA to cover the cost of stamps for ballots in election via WHYY ICYMI (IN CASE YOU MISSED IT) Become a PHS Tree Tender Learn about tree care and planting by participating in a PHS Tree Tenders training this spring. This eight-hour course offers topics including tree biology, identification, planting, and proper care. You will be joining one of the nation’s oldest, most respected volunteer urban tree-care programs. The next cohort of classes starts on September 9th, via Zoom! Fundraiser for Sanitation Worker PPE The City has not provided enough PPE for our sanitation workers so they've started a t-shirt fundraising campaign to be able to purchase their own PPE and cleaning supplies until more is provided.
