Covid-19 Updates
- The CIty has launched Covid-19 Emergency Rental Assistance
Program. The program will make rent payments for people who have lost
income because of Covid-19. For more information, click here. Applications must be submitted by Saturday, 5/16, at 5pm.
- PA has launched the Emergency Cash Assistance Program. If
you are struggling financially because of the pandemic you may be
eligible for an emergency cash grant from the PA Dept. of Human
Services. Application are being accepting now through June 2.
Residents can apply online or call BenePhilly at 1-833-373-5868.
- SEPTA
will return to their regular spring schedule on Sun, 5/17 and Mon,
5/18. This includes buses, trollies, and subway. The Regional Rail is
scheduled to operate at the end of May.
- Here's an updated list of area restaurants and businesses. Thank

Center City Quarterly
Last Call for Submissions
Do you know of a neighbor, friend, relative, service provider or
local merchant who is going to extraordinary lengths to make life better
for others? Do you have a story of your own to share? Pictures of good
Samaritans in action? We want to gather them all, and share them in a
special online edition of the
Center City Quarterly.
This
will serve as our Summer issue, so any regular features, such as the
President's Report and Calendar of Events, will still appear
accordingly, along with announcements and updates on events that were
previously published.
Details:
- Deadline: May 15
- Send submissions via email to centercity@centercityresidents.org, with CCQeditor in the subject line; please be sure to obtain your subject's permission to be featured
- Copy preferred in the form of Word attachments, 250-700 words
- Photos,
artwork and graphics should be submitted as jpg files (as large-format

Important Primary Election June 2 Update Voting by Mail is Crucial - Polling Locations Will Be Reduced, Combined, and Changed
We've learned from leaders in the 8th Ward that due to COVID-19
health and safety needs, "in person" polling places Citywide and in our
8th Ward will be greatly reduced in number.
Voters need to expect that their polling place will change, including polling places located inside residential buildings and high rises. The City Commissioners Office urges all primary voters to sign up online to vote by mail at https://votespa.com/ApplyMailBallot. If you don't have a PA Id or Drivers License, you can download the paper sign up form https://apps.philadelphiavotes.com/ and send it in ASAP to receive a mail in ballot. If you need a form mailed to you, call
