Spring Series 2020
at The Wilma Theater, March 18-29
BalletX, led by Christine Cox, presents its Spring Series 2020,
featuring three world premiere ballets by Nicole Caruana, Gregory
Dawson, and John McFall with music by Elvis Presley, Jessye Norman, and
Ezio Bosso.
Caruana, BalletX’s 2020 Choreographic Fellow, is quickly ascending the
ranks of emerging choreographers, with a recent commission by Scapino
Ballet Rotterdam and several international awards.
Dawson is an Isadora Duncan Award-winning choreographer, and Artistic
Director of San Francisco’s dawsondancesf, a company he founded in 2007,
following a nearly 20-year career dancing with Alonzo King LINES
Ballet.
McFall performed as a dancer with San Francisco Ballet for nearly two
decades before choreographing for Mikhail Baryshnikov at American Ballet
Theatre, and several others. He is the former Artistic Director of
Atlanta Ballet and BalletMet.
BalletX, named “among America’s best” by The New York Times, and recently featured on the cover of Dance Magazine, is Philadelphia's premier contemporary ballet company.
BalletX is offering dance classes at the
company’s new studio at 1923 Washington Avenue. Whether you want to work
out, hone your technique, or just move and groove, BalletX has Adult,
Youth, and Family classes for all levels and interests.

In honor of our upcoming show, we're gonna
do some actual striptease at our next Frisky Friday — but don't worry,

during the workshop finale. Then, back by request, we're closing out
the month with a Lizzo repeat. Frisky Fridays sometimes sell out, so get
