Bethesda's Our Brothers' Place Shelter is in need of Bar Soap and Plants for their Courtyard

The bar soap can be any brand and amount. OBP goes through A LOT of soap daily as it provides shelter for 150 men and showers services for of 75 walk-ins daily.  They would love to receive some Virginia Creeper and Ivy plants for the OBP courtyard, as we want plants that will grow to cover the chain linked fence.  Please let them know if you are able to provide any of these items.
Friends of PCI is One Quarter of the Way towards their Goal of Helping Mobility-Impaired Children and Adults access our Neighborhood Library!

Friends of Philadelphia City Institute (PCI) reports $100,000 has been collected towards the goal of $400,000 for the purpose of installing a lift in our local branch library on Rittenhouse Square. Thanks to all the neighbors who have contributed to this campaign.

This branch is the third busiest branch in Philadelphia. Unfortunately, our mobility-impaired neighbors are shut out from two important parts of the library - the Children's Room and the Community Room, both on the lower level, accessible only by stairs. The lift will remedy this problem. They need all neighbors to contribute large and small amounts to this effort. Please send a check to Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation/PCI Lift, 1901 Vine Street, Suite 111, Philadelphia PA 19103.  Click or tap here for more info
