Response to the Noose Found at 18th & Lombard Streets

As many people are aware from local news reports, earlier this week an individual placed a noose in a tree on the 1800 block of Lombard Street.  CCRA is highly troubled by this event.  Please be advised that CCRA is in contact with the Philadelphia Police Department, which is investigating the matter.  CCRA will provide our members with any public information we learn, and we expect to offer a more substantive comment when we know more.

In the meantime, there will be an Interfaith Response to the incident starting tonight, 7/13, 6pm, at 18th & Lombard.  For more info, click on the link below.
Upcoming Events
Public Meeting/Listening Session: Lombard/South Protected Bike Lane Project, Mon, 7/17, 5:30pm, The Philadelphia School, 25th & South Street

The City is hosting a listening session on protected bicycle lanes for Lombard, South, and 27th Streets.  For the city's flyer and more information, click here. CCRA previously reported that the meeting will be held 25th & Lombard.  Unfortunately, that was in error.  Instead, the meeting will be held at 25th & South.

In addition, it has come CCRA's attention that someone has been handing out flyers in the neighborhood that contain topics like "what this means for residents on the north side of these blocks" and "what this means for all residents, pedestrians, SEPTA riders, and drivers."  The flyers further advise individuals to send their comments to CCRA.  Crucially, the flyers do not contain any information about who created or distributed them.  Please be advised that these flyers were not created by CCRA, they were not approved by CCRA, and they were not handed out by anyone acting on the authority of CCRA.
