The theme for CCRA's 2017 Celebration of Center City Living is "School House Rock," with a share of the proceeds donated to Greenfield School, our public elementary, along with school supplies (notebooks, pencils, crayons, etc.) used as decorations.  Promote your business by donating a tax-deductible item to our silent or live auction.  Donors and their auction items will be recognized daily on CCRA's website through the event date and weekly with a link in this newsletter, as well as in the Celebration program and our hardcopy magazine, the Center City Quarterly.  Interested? Click here.

A young boy reads the fantastic tale of The Queen of the Night persuading Prince Tamino to rescue her daughter Pamina from captivity under the high priest Sarastro. Picturing himself as Tamino, the boy learns the high ideals of Sarastro's community and seeks to join it. Separately, then together, Tamino and Pamina undergo severe trials of initiation, which end in triumph with the Queen and her cohorts vanquished.  For more information and to RSVP,

Norman Rockwell Exhibition at the Philadelphia History Museum, thru Sun, 4/30, 15 S. 7th St.

42 Norman Rockwell illustrations for the Saturday Evening Post are on exhibit at the Philadelphia History Museum in the Made in Philadelphia Gallery. The Saturday Evening Post was published from 1897 to 1969 by the Curtis Publishing Company in Philadelphia. Between 1916 and 1963 Rockwell illustrated 322 Post covers. In 1998, Marshall and Donald Stoltz donated the complete collection of Rockwell's covers to the Atwater Kent Museum.
