The Soup Groups are back! The kick-off meeting is this Thursday, but the only absolute requirement is to sign up on the google form here! Please check out the bottom of the email for the Soup Group FAQs.
What else is going on South of South?
- SOSNA Dines Out at Southeast Bistro on Nov 14th. We had a blast at Magpie last month. Come see meet some neighbors and have a great meal (all for $25). Get your tickets here.
- CHOP Construction Update: We will have side walk closures at the SE and NE corners of the Schuylkill Ave and Bainbridge St intersection from Monday, 10/31, through Wednesday, 11/23. The work will be phased so that only partial closures will be necessary and pedestrian traffic will be maintained. This work is being performed to install new sidewalk and curbs.
- Stop by the SOSNA office to sign up for a free turkey. Turkeys are given out on December 2nd, but you must sign up ahead of time. The only requirement is that you live in 19146 or 19147.
- Mark December 3rd on your calendar for the next big trash pick up day (more info to come).

Typically, about a 5 to 7 person Soup Group will rotate with one person making a big pot of homemade soup on a weekly basis. The other group members come to pick up their share at set time. Everyone gets a homemade soup for their household each week, but only has to cook once every 5-7 weeks. Group members often chat and trade recipes during the weekly pick up. Is there a cost to join a SOSNA Soup Group?
Nope. Soup Group members will be responsible for the cost of ingredients and containers for soup transport, other than that there is no cost for a soup group.
What if I don’t/can’t eat meat, gluten, peanuts, dairy, seafood…..?
We’ll match groups up that are compatible based on major dietary restrictions. Once you are in your group you should discuss allergies & preferences.
Can I be placed in a Soup Group with a friend or with folks from last Soup Group season?
Sure! Just let us know on the sign up form.
