lively and a great start. We are busy preparing initial solar proposals

Fall 2016 Neighborhood Tree Planting, Sat, 11/19, 9am, Community Garden, 26th & Spruce Sts. - Rain or Shine
Tree recipients: If
you are able, please help with the tree planting of your tree. Folks
who invest the effort to help plant their tree form a bond with their
tree and are more likely to continue to care for them down the road. At a
minimum, make at least twenty gallons of water available for the team
when they arrive that morning, by way of access to a spigot or buckets.
Tree planter volunteers: Please bring gardening gloves if you have them.
Want to lead a planting team? To learn from PHS' finest, please attend the Bare Root Planting Leader training, Thursday, November 10 , 6:00 - 7:30 pm at PHS (5th Floor) and RSVP to Mindy Maslin.
Also,
past tree recipients, are your neighbors green with envy at your new
street tree? Is your tree lonely? If so, please send them this application for a street tree for the Spring 2017 to help further green your block! The deadline is November 21st (not November 1 as the form says.)

property on the southeast corner of 18th and Delancey may attend this

Interfaith Thanksgiving Gathering, Tue, 11/22, 7pm, Holy Trinity Church, NW Cor. Ritt Sq.
At this CCRA sponsored gathering, a neighborhood tradition, 13 congregations in our area's Buddhist, Christian, Humanist, Islamic, and Jewish faith communities invite residents to offer thanks in their respective traditions. An
offertory will be collected for The Bethesda Project which provides
shelter for Philadelphia's most vulnerable. Please bring food for the

Happy Hour with your Philadelphia Council-at-Large members, Dec. 14, 2016 at 6 PM, at Victor's Bar, 2101 Chestnut St.
CCRA
has many events with officials representing districts in our footprint.
We're honored to provide this event to meet our Council-at-Large
members. Each will speak for a couple minutes about their 2017 focus and
then mingle. This is a time for you to meet with city leaders. All seven at-Large members are invited. First round is on CCRA for CCRA members and their guests. Victor's Bar will graciously provide the food and Happy Hour prices for drinks.

NextMove Dance presents the legendary Martha Graham Dance Company, Thurs, 11/3 - Sun 11/6, Prince Theater, 1412 Chestnut St
One of America's most celebrated and visionary dance troupes, the Martha
Graham Dance Company (MGDC), returns to Philadelphia after a decade on
the NextMove Dance Series. Named by Time Magazine as the "Dancer of the
Century," founder/choreographer Martha Graham has left a deep and
lasting impact on American art and culture through her repertoire of 181
works. The program includes Graham's masterworks Appalachian Spring
(1944), Errand into the Maze (1947), Dark Meadow Suite (2016) featuring
highlights from Graham's Dark Meadow (1946)and a re-imaging of Graham's
poignant solo Lamentation (1930) in Lamentation Variations (2007) by
contemporary choreographers - Bulareyaung Pagarlava, Richard Move and
Larry Keigwin.
Performances take place
Thursday, November 3 at 7:30pm; Friday, November 4 at 8:00pm; Saturday,
November 5 at 2:00pm and 8:00 pm; and Sunday, November 6 at 2:30pm and

Greenfield Bake Sale, Tues, 11/8, 7am - 6pm, Greenfield Sch., 2200 Chestnut St.
The
families of Albert M. Greenfield Elementary School will be trying to
make this election SWEET and are hosting a bake sale on Tuesday,
November 8th, from 7:00am - 6:00pm. If this is your polling location
please stop by the tasty tent. All proceeds will benefit the students at
Albert M Greenfield School, 2200 Chestnut Street.

Love Your Park Day, Sat, 11/12, 9am to 12pm
Volunteers will be planting daffodil and tulip bulbs around the
perimeter of the park. If you would like to come out and help from 9am
to 12 noon, please email chloe@friendsofrittenhouse.org.
Friends of Rittenhouse Square will provide all the supplies, just come
dressed appropriately and ready to dig. This event is weather
permitting and may be cancelled due to rain.

Under Glass: A Victorian Obsession w/ Author and Collector John Whitenight, Thurs, 11/17, 2pm, Atheneum, 210 S. 6th St.
John
Whitenight, author of the beautiful and captivating book, "Under Glass -
A Victorian Obsession" will share his interest in and love of this
little known Penn's Village has discovered yet another fascinating neighbor: Victorian decorative art.

Art Exhibition, Thurs, 11/27, 5-7pm, C.R.Ettinger Studio, 2215 South Street
The
C.R. Ettinger Studio Gallery invites you to the opening of a new
exhibition of etchings by artist José Ortiz-Pagán, entitled CÉNIT
(Addendum). Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Ortiz-Pagán received
degrees from the University of Puerto Rico and the Tyler School of Art,
Temple University in Rome. His images are about political events in the
last 40 years and how industrial systems have displaced people. He was
awarded the Carlos Marichal award on Printmaking. This event is free and
open to the public.
