What's Going On At SOSNA?

Friends & Neighbors,
Do you have a neighborhood project you'd like to tackle, but don't know where to start? Have you been wondering
what SOSNA is working on and how you could help? Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our committees of
volunteers SOSNA is able to tackle the big projects, plan the events and create the community spaces that make
our neighborhood the best place to live in Philly. Take a look at our current projects- whether it's planning
events at the Triangles Plaza
, creating Carpenter Green, or organizing neighbors to clean our streets, we have
something for everyone. Check out our events calendar to find our when each of the groups listed below has their
next meeting or event
All are welcome!
The next SOSNA Zoning Committee meeting will take place at the SOSNA office,
1901 Christian Street, at 7PM on June 15, 2016.
The SOSNA Zoning Committee always meets the third Wednesday of every month
starting at 7 PM.
1. 922 S 19th Street: Use application for a doggie daycare facility.
Bring your neighbors, friends, kids, family, dog, barista, bartender, whoever- We're having a BBQ at
Carpenter Green Park on June 18th! We'll be serving up burgers, dogs (veggie too) and beer to
celebrate summertime and the end of the school year. Check out the soon-to-be park, grab a bite
and get in on some lawn games. We'll have the sprinkler going for the kiddies as well as bocce,
badminton, corn hole and more. Make a day of it and bring a picnic blanket for some quality lounge time. Donations
for beverages are greatly appreciated, and all proceeds will go towards Phase 2 and the completion of the park.
Thursdays and Sundays throughout the spring and summer we're bringing food, fun and MUSIC
to the Triangles Plaza as part of our Triangles Summer Music Series. For the full list of dates,
bands and food trucks, click here
Join us on June 8th from 6-8PM for the Summer 2016 Music Series at Julian Abele Park! Fun
for the whole family! Bring a blanket, cooler, chairs and enjoy the free entertainment. A great
way to enjoy summer nights in the city while hanging with your neighbors. For more info and
future events, click here
We'd like to welcome Murray Spencer and Jim Hartnett to the SOSNA Board of Directors! At the June General
Membership Meeting the community unanimously voted to appoint both Jim and Murray in order fill two vacancies
due to  previous board members moving from the neighborhood. Jim is a member of our Clean & Green Committee,
a SOSNA Clean Block Rep and Carpenter Green volunteer. Murray participates in Zoning Workgroup and has
served on SOSNA's Zoning Committee since 2008, he's dedicated to improving the urban design of our neighborhood.
