Friends & Neighbors,
SOSNA is pleased to announce the recipient and runner up for the 2016 SOSNA Higher Education Scholarship – This year, because we had two highly qualified candidates, SOSNA is also awarding $500 to the runner up!
The 2016 SOSNA scholarship winner is Maryanne Cosgrove! Maryanne attends Masterman High School, where she is a member and co-President of several choirs, and lead in the High School Musical. She is also a member of state and national honors choruses, interned at Penn’s Department of Chemistry and has volunteered for the past 4 years as a member of YOUTHadelphia, which awards grants to non-profits that support Philadelphia teens. She will be attending Yale College in the fall to study chemistry, and later plans on completing medical school.
Our runner up, Leo Levy, is a student at the Science Leadership Academy, where he is the Founder and Chief Art Editor of the Academy’s first student arts and literary magazine.
