March General Meeting & Upcoming FoCA Night Out! Friends & Neighbors,  FoCA Night Out is a week away! It's an adults-only night out for parents, teachers and community members to gather, socialize and support local Philadelphia public education. Be sure to grab your tickets and check out all of the incredible items that will be up for auction! All proceeds from the event will benefit FoCA and Chester Arthur Elementary School.  Are you ready for the primary election on Tuesday, April 26th? Will you be out of town and need an absentee ballot? We'll go over everything you need to know at the SOSNA March General Meeting on March 17th at 6:30PM. A representative from the Office of City Commissioner Al Schmidt will be on hand to answer all of your questions and distribute absentee forms and election literature. Primary Election information will be followed by an informational presentation about the proposed development at 2501 Washington Avenue. Please plan on attending the meeting to learn more. Please note the Economic Development Committee meeting has been rescheduled for March 14th at 7pm. The PSA-1 Police Community meeting has also been reschedule for March 22nd at 6:30pm. News Interested in Planning? Apply for the CPI! The Philadelphia City Planning Commission is now accepting applications for the spring semester of the Citizens Planning Institute. Citizens Planning Institute (CPI) is the education and outreach arm of the Philadelphia City Planning Commission. CPI’s main programming is a six-week course that empowers citizens to take a more effective and active role in shaping the future of their neighborhoods and of Philadelphia through a greater understanding of city planning and the steps involved in development projects. Events Philly Spring Clean Up Mark your calendars for the 2016 Philly Spring Clean Up! Our Clean Block Reps will be cleaning up their respective blocks and we'll be spring cleaning at Carpenter Green. The cleaning will be followed by a volunteer celebration at Carpenter Green from 12-2pm! More details will follow, so save the date! Events Spring Neighborhood Tree Planting The Southwest Center City Tree Planters will be planting trees on Saturday, April 23th at 9am and they’d love to have you join them! To volunteer meet the planters either at the parking lot at 22nd and Bainbridge Streets (for the west side planting), or at the SOSNA Office, 19th and Christian (for the east side planting).
