Neighborhood News and Upcoming Tax Meeting

What's new with SOSNA, you ask? The real question is, WHO is new? We're excited to announce we'll be joined by intern, Darrel Caine, for the spring semester! Darrel will be helping out with numerous SOSNA projects, including the implementation of SOSNA's Walkability Plan and surveying our streets for data on litter and local businesses. Feel free to stop by to SOSNA and welcome him to the neighborhood! And stay tuned for updates from our Safety, Clean & Green, Economic Development and Community Partnerships Committees in the coming weeks!
Valentines Day will be here before you know it, consider brightening someone's day by sending a valentine to a resident at Bethesda Project. Valentines will be hung throughout one of Bethesda's 13 shelters and given to residents on the 14th. To make a donation, click here
Please note: The Friends of Julian Abele Park Meeting has been rescheduled from tonight (2/2/16), until Monday, February 22nd.

Do you want to learn more about all of the City's tax relief programs? Join us on Wednesday, February 10th from 7-8pm for our general meeting on everything to do with taxes. Staff from the City of Philadelphia Revenue Department will be on hand to talk about different programs, answer questions and enroll eligible attendees.

Friends of Julian Abele Park meeting. We meet the first Tuesday of each month at the SOSNA office at 7pm. (February meeting to be held on February 22nd.)

From now until February 9th, you can purchase a valentine for residents and guests of Bethesda Project! Choose from 3 different designs with a “fill-in the blank” message.  They will be displaying the valentine’s in their shelters and residences starting on the 10th, and on Valentine’s Day, residents and guests can pick one to keep. Friends of Chester Arthur’s Night Out is a chance for parents, teachers and community members to gather, socialize and support local Philadelphia public education. Proceeds from a silent auction will benefit FoCA and Chester Arthur School.

SOSNA is excited to annouce we'll be joined by Darrel Caine, for a spring internship!  Darrel is currently a senior at Temple University, majoring in Geography and Urban Studies, and minoring in Sociology. Darrel will be participating in a few of SOSNA's projects, such as the implementation of SOSNA's Walkability Plan, administering a litter survey, and more.
