SOSNA News Letter

Leap Day Happy Hour & SOSNA's Walkability Plan

Friends & Neighbors,
It's Leap Year- you get an entire extra day in February. So don't waste it! Spend Leap Day hanging with friends (new & old) at Los Camaradas at our Leap Day Happy Hour! From 5:30-7:30PM enjoy $4 select beers and house wines, $6 margaritas and $6 snacks. We also have a little competition planned- A prize will go to SOSNA's newest neighbor as well as the neighbor who's lived in the 'hood the longest. Do you have a new neighbor, or, have you been meaning to get to know someone on your block? Invite them to come along!
Would you like to see more green stormwater infrastructure (GSI) in our neighborhood? The Safety Committee has been working hard on a plan to bring more green infrastructure to the neighborhood through the implementation of the SOSNA Walkability Plan. GSI not only manages storm water, it can also help with traffic calming - making our neighborhood safer for walking and biking. The Safety Committee plans to bring traffic calming to intersections around our schools, join us at the next SOSNA Safety Committee meeting (7:30pm on March 17th) to learn how you can help with this important project!
You can also let the Philadelphia Water Department know you'd like to see more green stormwater infrastructure in our neighborhood by taking their short 5 minute survey about Green City, Clean Waters! (Green City, Clean Waters is Philadelphia’s plan to manage stormwater pollution entering our creeks and rivers through the use of green infrastructure.)
