Streetscape, Summer Music and Safety

Friends & Neighbors,
If you add beauty to our neighborhood with colorful flowers boxes or tree pit and container gardens, we want to recognize you! Enter into the SOSNA Streetscape Competition! We award prizes in three categories and will announce winners at the SOSNA Summer Social, taking place on July 18th in Julian Abele Park (stay tuned for more info on the Summer Social next week)! For more info on how to enter the Streetscape Competition, click here.
Remember, every Thursday night we have free music and food trucks at the Grays Ferry Triangles Plaza! Come out and enjoy food, music and friends in the little urban oasis know as the Triangles!

A Public Service Announcement from the SOSNA Safety Committee:

We are continuing to see a rise in the number of thefts from automobiles. Remember to lock all doors and remove everything visible inside cars (including cords, change, GPS holders/suction), especially items of value. Always report all break-ins and attempts to 911. Please spread the word to friends, neighbors, and visitors.
Also, as the weather is starting to get warmer, be sure to check that house doors and windows (front and back) are locked before going out, even for a short trip.

Joining them for two selections is one of Lawrence's costars from Charlie Parker’s YARDBIRD, soprano Angela Brown. Meet Lawrence and Damien after the recital at an informal reception, where copies of their acclaimed CD, Spiritual Sketches, will be available for sale and signing.
The program will be held at Union Baptist Church, a National Historic Landmark where trailblazing Philadelphia contralto Marian Anderson sang as a child.
