SOSNA Dines Out: TONIGHT;
Parking Meeting: WEDNESDAY!

Friends & Neighbors, 
SOSNA Dines Out at Devil's Pocket is TONIGHT at 7pm! This is your last chance to grab
tickets for an evening of great food and drink with friends- old and new! Tickets are $35
and include and 3 course prix fixe menu. To make the deal even sweeter bottles of wine are
half price tonight! It's going to be a beautiful evening so get outside, enjoy the weather and

Do you have questions about parking in our neighborhood? The PPA will be joining us at our
April General Meeting
to answer questions about permit parking, guest passes, and more! We
understand many of our residents have difficulties parking around their homes, so please join
us on April 8th at Shiloh Baptist Church to formulate some solutions to parking issues in our
neighborhood. We'll also be unveiling the SOSNA Strategic Plan at the General Meeting this
week, don't miss it!
The Philly Spring Clean Up is this Saturday, April 11th! SOSNA will be cleaning up the
future site of Carpenter Green- our next great community park! Meet us at Carpenter Green
(17th and Carpenter Streets) at 10:00am, we'll clean up the park and end with a volunteer party
at 2:00pm! Sign up here to join the fun. We'll be making a special announcement about
Carpenter Green at 2:00pm,
so don't miss it!
The Friends of Julian Abele Park will be meeting tomorrow, April 7th at the SOSNA office
at 7pm. They'll be discussing their Love your Park Week event coming up on May 9th, their
501 (c) 3 application, the summer farmers market, fundraising and more! Please note,
membership renewal dues are due this month.

Education Scholarship! Download the application here
In 2013 SOSNA's Community
Impact Group created the SOSNA Higher Education Scholarship which provides a
neighborhood high school senior with a $1,000 college scholarship.

SOSNA Dines Out on Monday, April, 6th at 7:00PM! This month we will be enjoying
great food and drink with our friends at Devil's Pocket!

Join us on Wednesday, April 8th for the unveiling of the SOSNA Strategic Plan! The hard
work of the Strategic Planning Committee, Drexel students, and our board of directors has
culminated with the completion of the strategic plan for South of South focused on YOU,
the residents of our community! During the April General meeting we will also be talking
about parking, an issue that afftects many members of our community. We'll discuss solutions
to parking in our neighborhood and representatives from the PPA will be on hand! Come out
to Shiloh Baptist Church on Wednesday April 8th at 7pm to learn more!

Registration system

Come to Catharine Park (22nd Street & Catharine Street) on Saturday, April 18th
from 10 am to 12 pm to register your bike! Officers from the 17th Police District will
be on-hand, as will members of the SOSNA Safety Committee to help you through the process.

Join the SOSNA Safety Committee for a South of South Town Watch Group Patrol within
the neighborhood on Thursday, April 16th at 7:30pm. This is a good opportunity to check
out Town Watch and see what it is all about. Plus, it is a great way to meet other neighbors,
while making the neighborhood a safer place to live.
We will meet at the SOSNA Office (1901 Christian Street) and plan to end the patrol at
22nd and Christian Street (outside Sidecar). Feel free to bring your dog.

Please join Stanton Community Partners for a happy hour fundraiser at Art Sanctuary to
support Young Playwrights and other enrichment programs at E.M. Stanton Elementary
School in Philadelphia's Graduate Hospital neighborhood. You will have the opportunity
to admire and win items (via raffle and silent auction) donated by local artists, craftspeople
and businesses, as well as participate in a 50/50 raffle. Refreshments will be provided. Get

Friends of Chester Arthur’s Night Out is a chance for parents, teachers and community
members to gather, socialize and support local Philadelphia public education. Proceeds
from a silent auction will benefit FoCA and the Playworks Program at Chester Arthur

Join SSWBA for a Springtime Pub Stroll on South Street West!
Winter is finally over! Get Sprung! Join us on Saturday, April 18th from 1pm to 7pm for a
Springtime Pub Stroll along South Street West. A ticket gets you food and drink specials at
stops like The Cambridge, Bob & Barbara’s Lounge, Doobies, and Grace Tavern.  It also gets
you discounts at participating businesses!

Join us April 22nd for an evening of conversation with Second Councilmanic District Candidates Kenyatta
Johnson and Ori Feibush. The event will be moderated by WNYC reporter, author of the "Christie
Chronicles" and neighborhood resident Matt Katz. This event is brought to you jointly by the
South of South Neighborhood Association and the South Street West Civic Association. The
event will be held in the Chester A. Arthur auditorium. Doors open at 6:30 and programming
begins promptly at 7.

Did you know a street tree can add up to 11% in property values to homes within 50 feet
(according to a recent study by the Wharton School)?  Trees not only add value, they make
our streets more walkable and beautify our entire neighborhood. The Southwest Center City
Tree Planters
 are now accepting applications for fall 2015 tree plantings. To learn more about
