Announcing SOSNA Dines Out at Cafe Ynez! Next Week- Neighborhood Zoning

Friends and Neighbors,

SOSNA Dines Out is back for another delicious installment at Cafe Ynez! Please join us on November 17th for an evening filled with great food and good friends. Tickets are available now, but space is limited! To check out the vegetarian friendly menu and purchase your tickets please click HERE!

The Southwest Center City Tree Planters have a tree planting event this Saturday, November 15th! There are many trees to plant so please come and join the fun! Those who would like to volunteer and live East of 20th street please meet the group at the SOSNA office on November 15th at 9:30am. If you live West of 20th Street please meet in the church parking lot at 22nd and Bainbridge Streets at 9:00am. Seasoned planters please bring your gear (gardening gloves, shovels, etc.), if you are new to tree planting, don't worry, we will be working in groups so everyone has a chance to learn!

Mark your calendar- SOSNA will be facilitating a Royal Theater Community Meeting on Thursday, November 20th at 7:00pm. Representatives from Dranoff Properties will be presenting the plans for the redevelopment of the Royal Theater. The meeting will take place at St. Charles Senior Center located at 1941 Christian Street. 

Lastly, SOSNA is holding a Neighborhood Clean Up on Saturday, November 22nd. The clean up will run from 9:00-11:00am and we will be meeting at the SOSNA office. Please bring your friends- the more volunteers, the cleaner the streets!

On Thursday, November 20th, SOSNA will be facilitating a public meeting where representatives from Dranoff Properties will present plans for the redevelopment of the Royal Theater building. The meeting will be held at the St Charles Senior Center, located at 1941 Christian Street, and begin promptly at 7 PM.

The Novmeber 19 SOSNA Zoning Committee meeting will take place at the SOSNA OFFICE, 1901 Christian Street, at 7PM.
The SOSNA Zoning Committee always meets the third Wednesday of every month starting at 7 PM.

AGENDA for November 19:
1007 S Bouvier Street: Application for the legalization of a rear yard deck accessed by second floor exterior door, accessory to an existing, attached, two-story structure.
2249 League Street: Application for the complete demolition of an existing structure; and for the erection of an attached structure with roof deck and pilot house for single family household living. 
1409 Pemberton Street: Application for the erection of an attached structure, roof deck and pilot house for single family household living with one interior parking garage.
 
Events
Bagged leaf Drop-Off will be offered citywide, on a weekly basis, on Saturdays for 6 weeks starting November 22, 2014 at 22 locations from 9 AM to 3 PM (with the exception of the Saturdays following Veteran’s Day and Thanksgiving Holidays). 
 
News
As of November 3, 2014 SOSNA is out of recycling bins. Call or stop by to find out when we will get the next shipment. In the interim, SOSNA has recycling stickers that make any container a recycling bin, stop in to the SOSNA office to pick on up!

The Christian Street Y is hiring 2 part-time (5-7 hours per day) CDL bus drivers with a P and S endorsements. $14 per hour.
If you are interested stop in at the Y (1724 Christian St) to apply.
